Well, hello there, strangers! Sorry it’s been so long. We’ve been busy doing summer.
Baseball games, baseball practice, cheerleading practice, camps, the lake, exploring, swimming. All of it. I really haven’t had a moment to sit down and share it all in awhile, but here I am!
We went blueberry picking on Friday morning and it was glorious. It reminded me how much fun we had strawberry picking last month and how I just need to share this with you all! I’ve wanted to go berry picking for the longest time, but always seemed to remember it as soon as picking season was over. This year, I made sure to get it on the calendar early! I looked at a few different patches and when I saw that Gieringer’s had homemade strawberry donuts and slushies, I was sold.
In May, the whole family went out for strawberry picking. It was a hot, sunny day and those donuts and slushies did not disappoint. We got to take a tractor ride out to the field which made tiny man’s day! There were lots of people, but plenty of room in the fields and tons of gorgeous strawberries to pick. I still have some in my freezer! As a bonus, they also had snap peas ready to pick while we were there!
In addition to the donuts and slushies, they have a food truck, lots of picnic tables and tons of areas for the kids to run and play. We decided to purchase a family U-Pick Season Pass so we can keep going back all summer.
Last week they announced that blueberries and blackberries were ready to pick. The weather was a little rainy and cooler and it seemed like the perfect time to go! The kids were so excited to get back out there. We have quickly fallen in love with this place. I think we’ll be out there a few more times before summer ends. They’ve got peaches, tomatoes and sweet corn still to come and then sunflowers and pumpkins this fall!
