The kids are back in school and fall is approaching in Kansas City. It’s that time of year. Time to start booking your fall family photo session. If you’re a busy mom like me, I know that process can sound daunting. First there’s figuring out a date and time that fits into your crazy schedule of school and kids activities. Photo sessions can take a big chunk of time out of your day. Once you’ve got the date picked out then comes the search for the perfect location and the outfits. Then it’s the day of and you’re running around getting everyone dressed, throwing snacks at the kids to keep them happy, trying to get everyone in the car without forgetting someone’s shoe, crossing your fingers the baby doesn’t fall asleep on the ride there because we all know how car naps can create tiny grouchy monsters….
Well, what if I told you it doesn’t have to be that way? This year, I’ve decided to offer a unique mini session experience.
The Front Porch Mini Session.
I come to your house. Yes, right there where you are. No mad dash to get everyone anywhere. I take 20 minutes of your time. That’s it. No need to block off your whole evening. And we create some real life family photos. When you send out those holiday cards your friends and family will get to see the real you. They will get to see your everyday. Your story. The part of you they love the most.
No front porch? No Problem. This is just an opportunity to be at home. So, front porch, back patio, deck, yard, couch or even your bed. We can capture special moments in any part of your home.
If you’ve been curious about my At Home sessions, this is a great way to get a little taste of one. I promise, once you try it once, you’ll be hooked. In my opinion there’s really no better place to capture your story then in the place your story happens. A photographer friend of mine recently described our style of photography in a way that perfectly explains my passion for it: Traditional family portraits say “this is what we look like,” but lifestyle/documentary photos say “this is who we are.”
