Summer Break Bucket List

It’s May. That means school will be out sooner than I’m probably ready for. I’m certainly ready for sleeping in past 6AM, but I’m not sure about the rest of it. Let’s face it. Summer break sounds great in theory, but the reality is it is exhausting, frustrating, annoying, overwhelming, and exhausting. Did I mention exhausting? Maybe not physically exhausting, but for this introvert, it’s some serious mental Olympics. There’s no break. No personal time. No space to breathe.

Don’t get me wrong. I love summer. I love freedom and relaxation. I love spending this extra time with my kiddos. Adventuring and creating. Quality time and memories.

The best course of action for this introverted mama is to have a plan. To have some sort of schedule and routine. I want to make summer break as memorable and exciting as I can for my kiddos while still reserving enough energy for myself.

I’ve decided to put together a Summer Break Bucket List. A giant list of activities to do and places to explore. This will be a good launching pad for me to plan our weeks and be prepared instead of constantly improvising in the moment. If I can pick a couple of these to tackle each week and end most nights in the backyard, I will consider our summer a success.
